When You Walk Through the Fire

Hi Friends,
As I was reading through our text it says that the young kids are being weaned on interaction with multimedia and adults including educators are newcomers to the technological world. There is truly a technological generation gap and the educators are way behind the technological exploration and experimentation our young generation like to embrace. I feel so incompetent when I see what my children can do with blogging, using my space, IM and many more. One thing I realize is that the best way to become competent is to use the online more frequently. Though it is challenging I am determined to learn. My husband and my daughters are willing to help. I like to quote the Bible "when you walk through the fire you will not be burned" (Isaiah 43:2). I am telling myself the internet will not burn me up.
I am glad that now I can chat and blog!
Mercy.

Hi Mercy,
That is true, untill you walked through the fire of embracing technology as it comes, you thought you will be burned, but it seem fun when you get to know how to navigate through it. Good move, they say you "have to leap twice a times before you jump".

Mercy,
Yes, it is a very nice quote and so true! I am happy to say that I am moving along with this too. Have you ever heard the quote "Born with a silver spoon" in this day an age, our kids are "born with a computer and mouse" LOL,Thanks Mercy, Hope all is well with you. Did you stay for ride-out or recovery?

Hi Mercy,

I can relate to you with the computer. While I am not totally new to online, I am still not familiar with all of the technology on the internet. I am new to IM and blogging. We can help each other navigate through this new computer world.

Mercy,
Practice makes perfect. We know that from all we learned in nursing school! You are working at MD Anderson because you have learned how to take care of patients there.... I'm sure you didn't know it all the first day. It's the same with the computer. Do it every day... someday you'll be like "wow! how did I live without it!" lol

thank you for all your comments. Hurricane IKE mercilessly blew off my roof. One good thing is that we are all safe and in one piece.
"Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler" Psalm 91:3-4
Thank you for all your prayers. I will blog as often as I can, since I do not have a home as of this moment.
I will be starting work from tomorrow. If I do not reply quickly, please forgive me. We are still cleaning up and getting back to normal.
God Bless and please continue to pray for us!
